Safe Firearm Handling
Firearms must always be handled with care and respect. Responsible handling reduces the risk of accidents and ensures safe operation in all situations.
The four fundamental rules of firearm safety should always be followed:
-
Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
Even if you believe a firearm is unloaded, handle it with the same caution as a loaded firearm. -
Never point a firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot.
Keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction at all times. -
Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
Rest your finger along the frame or receiver until your sights are on target and you have made the decision to shoot. -
Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
Always know what you are aiming at and what lies behind or around it.
Additional safe handling practices include:
-
-
-
Store firearms securely when not in use.
-
Keep firearms unloaded until ready for use.
-
Use the correct ammunition for the firearm.
-
Regularly inspect and maintain firearms according to manufacturer guidelines.

Safe Use of a Holster
A holster is designed to securely hold a firearm, protect the trigger, and allow for safe carrying and controlled access.
When using a holster:
1. Use a holster designed specifically for your firearm model.
A proper holster should securely retain the firearm and completely cover the trigger guard.
2. Ensure the holster is properly attached.
Whether belt-mounted, inside-the-waistband, or another style, the holster should remain stable and not shift during normal movement.
3. Practice safe drawing and reholstering.
-
-
-
Keep your finger off the trigger during the draw.
-
Draw smoothly and deliberately.
-
When reholstering, move slowly and visually confirm the holster opening is clear.
-
-
4. Avoid modifying holsters in ways that reduce safety.
Changes that expose the trigger or weaken retention can create unsafe conditions.
5. Regularly inspect the holster.
Check for wear, loose hardware, or deformation that could affect retention or trigger coverage.
